The BiRB Straw Recycling Project

The BiRB Straw Recycling project has partnered with several Youngstown restaurants including Starbucks, The Kitchen Post, Charlie Staples, MVR, Hot Heads, Pressed, Kilcawley Center Restaurants (Chick-Fil-A and Wendy's) and Chipotle to collect plastic straws that would otherwise been thrown away.

Enacuts YSU students who are the minds behind the project will collect these straws once a week and begin the process of turning them into 3D printing filament.

Once the filament is created, they will look to sell it back to local Youngstown 3D printing businesses, as the industry is rapidly growing in the area. All profit will go back into expanding this project further and obtaining more resources to increase productivity!

The BiRB Project is all about "Bringing it Right Back".

Taking plastic waste from Youngstown and re-purposing it into a product for local Youngstown businesses to thrive off of.
